Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC CHSL 2018 Recruitment notificationfor the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)/ , Posta Assistant/ Sorting Assistant(PA/SA) and Data Entry OPerator(DEO)

SSC CHSL Application Form 2017 online submission has been started from 18th November and it will be closed on 18th December 2017. Therefore, SSC CHSL 2017 Online Form link has been activated online on the official website. Therefore, candidates are advised to apply online for SSC CHSL 2017-18 Exam on or before the last date.

SSC CHSL 2017 Eligibility Criteria :

Education Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Boardor University.

For Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Age Limit: Candidates age should be 18-27 years as on 01.08.2018 (Candidates born not before 02-08-1991 and not later than 01-08-2000).

How to Apply for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2017-18?

  • Go to SSC Online website- ssc.nic.in
  • SSC CGL 2018 Online form will be divided into two Parts - Part-1 and Part-2
  • Left of the screen, you will find a tab for New Registration, Click the option Register.
  • Part I Registration - You will have to fill basic information and preference of posts.
  • Fill all these details as asked in step 4 for SSC CGL online form and submit it. It will give you Registration Number and Password.
  • Part II Registration - You will have to fill payment details, upload scanned signature and photograph.
  • Size of photo should be between 30 KB and 50 KB. The size of the signature should be between 1 KB and 12 KB.
  • After uploading of your Photo and Signature, click on Apply Part (to the right of the Screen)
  • Fill your Registration Number and Password. Then Submit it.
  • Fill your education details and Post preferences.
  • Check the form once again before submitting. Your application form preview will be displayed. Click On "I Agree" button.
  • Select a mode of payment. online mode (Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking) or offline mode (by using challan)& and pay the application fee.
  • After completing the SSC CGL Part-2 Registration, you must have to take the print out of the submitted application form.

SSC CHSL 2017 Application Fee :

The required application fee is Rs. 100/-

Important Points: -

  • There will be Negative marking and for each wrong answer, 0.50 marks will be deducted.
  • There will be 25 questions from each of the above sections
  • The total number of marks will be 200

Tier II Exam Pattern

This is a descriptive exam that is designed to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of approximately 150-200 words. .

Skill Test/ Typing Test:

candidates will have to give a typing speed test. The test will be conducted for both English and Hindi languages:

  • For English medium-  typing speed of 35 words per minute
  • For Hindi medium – typing speed of 30 words per minute.

Test will be 10 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions. VH candidates (with 40% disability and above) will be allowed 30 minutes.

SSC CHSL 2018 Selection Procedure :

Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II Examination on the basis of their performance in Tier-I. There may be separate cut-offs for different posts i.e DEO, DEO Grade 'A', LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA in Tier-I and subsequent Tiers.

Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-III Examination the basis of their performance in (Tier-I + Tier-II) subject to having minimum score of 33% in Tier-II.

Tier-III Examination i.e. Skill Test will be of qualifying type. The candidates who qualify TierIII will be called for Document Verification to check the eligibility of candidates as per information given by him/ her in the online Application Form.

Final allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending on their merit position and the option exercised by them during document verification.

SSC CHSL Syllabus 2017-18 :

I. General Intelligence: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences,Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations. 

II. English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage. 

III. Quantitative Aptitude:   

ARITHMETIC:

Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time and work.

ALGEBRA: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations. 

GEOMETRY: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: 

Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles. 

MENSURATION: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.

TRIGONOMETRY: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems) Standard Identities like sin20 + Cos20=1 etc, 

STATISTICAL CHARTS : Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart 

General Awareness: In this section, questions related to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research will be asked. Also the candidate needs to be aware about the surroundings and current happenings around the nation.

SSC CHSL Admit Card 2017-18 :

candidate who registers for SSC CHSL Exam 2018 within stipulated time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be downloaded from the official website of SSC. The admit card for the CGL Tier-1 exam will be released first followed by the admit card of CGL Tier-2 exam (administered to only those candidates who qualify for Tier 1 exam).
